Northampton Water Ski & Wakeboard Club is a boat owners club, it was formed in 1974 as a family oriented recreational club. Members enjoy water skiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, hydrofoiling (air-chair) and inflatables, with all ages and levels of ability joining in the fun. Boats in use range from small outboards to specialised waterski and wakeboard tow boats. From humble beginnings the club has continually developed and in 1992 our new fully equipped clubhouse opened, totally funded by the membership. See Video of Club Facilities Below

The clubhouse offers male and female changing facilities with showers, a communal kitchen area with fridge and microwave and French doors that lead to a large patio overlooking the lake. The club owns a good selection of skis, wakeboards, kneeboards, wet suits and life jackets which are available for free use by members and members guests.

The club has a six-buoy slalom course with inner buoys for knee boarding.

We have a number of qualified instructors and competent members in most disciplines who will upon request make themselves available to members for training. Additionally specialist coaching days are arranged to meet demand.

All boat drivers must hold the British Waterski and Wakeboard Speed Boat Drivers Award (SBDA); this is available through the club or from external test centres, a list of which can be found on the British Water Ski & Wakeboard website www.britishwaterski.co.uk.

Members have full access to use the club house and equipment and guests are welcome at no charge (subject to limited visits)

On joining the club a boat owner is allocated two time slots. Owners are guaranteed access onto the lake for both these time slots and additionally they can use their boat at any other time providing not all the permit holders for that session are in attendance. As the number of boat owner members is small this is only rarely an issue and members can in the main ski whenever the lake is open.

Lake operating times are afternoons and evenings from 1pm to dusk Mon, Tues, Wed, Sat & Sun and all day Friday. Use of the lake is restricted to six boats on the water with a maximum of three boats in motion at any one time.

The club is open all year round.
