Northampton Water Ski Club is a boat owners club, it was formed in 1974 as a family oriented club, keen to promote water skiing to the young, old and disabled skiers alike. From humble beginnings the club has continually developed and in 1992 the new £60,000 clubhouse opened, totally funded by the membership. The clubhouse offers male and female changing facilities with showers, a communal kitchen area with fridge and microwave and French doors that lead to a large patio overlooking the lake. The club has a six-buoy slalom course with inner buoys for knee boarding. We have a number of qualified instructors who will upon request make themselves available to members for training. Additionally specialist coaching days are arranged to meet demand. All boat drivers must hold the SBDA; this is available through the club. After joining the club a boat owner must purchase 2 boat permits. with the purchase of these permits you are guaranteed access onto the lake for both these time slots and additionally you can use your boat at any other permit time providing not all the permit holders for that session are in attendance. The times slots are either afternoon [ 1pm till 4:45pm ] or evening sessions [ 4.45pm till dusk ] Six permits are allocated per session, under local council rules the club is restricted to six boats on the water with only three boats in motion at any one time. Boats are paired up and share a jetty. Each skier has a maximum of 15 minutes on the water, meaning this is the longest time any boat will wait.
